I am a Michigan born and raised artist that mainly uses nonferrous/precious metals and ceramic, but I can be seen using a wide variety of material from steel, to glass, plastics and natural material.

I grew up in Michigan around the lakes and ever since I was little I felt a connection between art and nature. As a really young child I would dig for clay at the beach and use it to make little bowls and sculptures. This curiosity grew into a full blown obsession and career in making art inspired by the nature world around me.

The thing I enjoy most is getting to connect with people through work I make with my own two hands. I have put a lot of thought into not only making my work beautiful, but also in making sure that my pieces function exceptionally. I love seeing a potential customer pick up one of my mugs and smile because they are immediately in love with the way a mugs handle feels in their hand.

My sculptural work from my BFA celebrates life and reflects on the fragility and fickleness of the ephemeral qualities of existence. My work is concerned with the way we as humans learn life lessons, and how to always find peace and solace in the trials and tribulations along the way. My entities I create are actors of the present that remind me of the past, and forebode me to not make the same mistakes in the future. I use my dead insect reliquaries, narrative wall pieces, sculptures, installations, domestic objects, and adornments as vehicles to tell a visual story that all viewers can relate to. I am telling stories about children catching insects, and how those insects came to teach the very life lessons that have propelled me from infancy to adulthood.
